(The Dance)

1985 Marty: (singing) Rock The Casbah by The Clash.

(2015 Marty hums along for a few moments, realizing that he’s not half bad, then sees Biff's personal assistant Marvin again. 

He was on the back of the platform, with weapons, waiting for 1985 Marty to finish so he can beat him up.

2015 Marty spots a wire under Marvin. He crouches behind the audience and goes behind the stag.

We see a view of 1985 Marty playing his guitar solo with 2015 Marty, not too far from him. He is unseen. Marvin makes his phone call to his cousin Chuck. 2015 Marty tried to pull the wire.

Marty: Come on....

(He manages it, and the wire is pulled and Marvin trips unconscious.

1985 Marty goes a bit overboard, and by the time he's finished playing some rock music, the dance is silent, looking at him.

2015 Marty looks back at himself. 2015 Marty looks at the crowd. Strickland is covering his ears.)

1985 Marty: I guess you guys aren't ready for that yet. But your kids are going to love it.

(2015 Marty is about to head off and gets out the walkie-talkie.)

Marty: (w.t) Hey Doc, success, everything's cool.

Doc: (v.o) Great, I'll be landing on the school roof in about 1 minute.

Marty: (w.t) I'll be there.

Film Remakes

Kong Kong - 1933

The difference between the two movies is the practical effects used. In the original 30s version you had Stop-Motion Animation, while in the 2000s remake. The new effects are motion capture, which is a significant difference to the original.


The Thing - 1955

The Thing - 1982

The difference between the two classics is that both movies are set in difference continents. The original set in the North Pole, the remake from John Carpenter is set in the South Pole. Another significant change between the two movies is that, the 50s classic uses are a costume for the monster. While in the 80s version uses animatronics and a lot of gore.


Godzilla - 1954

Godzilla - 2014

The difference between the two Big-G movies is the setting. The original Godzilla (Gojira in Japan) was set in Japan. While the recently released 2014 version is set in America. Another difference is the storyline. Instead of Godzilla destroying Japan like the original. In the modern remake, Godzilla is saving America from the evil Mutos. Another significant change is that Godzilla in the remake is a CGI monster, while the original is a man in a costume.


The reason we do remakes is because it allows a new audience to have the experience on watching a film that was released many years ago. Another reason is because it revives a franchise and sees how the film would look in the modern setting, compared to its settings in the 50s or the 80s for example.

The Lumiere Legacy

1 - The lumiere Brothers (Louis and Auguste) were two french brothers, who would revolutionise the early films in the late 19th century to early 20th century.
2 - Both the brothers lived in Besoncon, France.
3 - At that time, the person who ruled France was Napoleon the 3rd.
4 - Another significant events that occurred during the Lumiere brothers period was the Civil War between the North and South of America.
5 - The films that the Lumiere brothers created, show a lot of what the daily working class Joe does in there daily lives.
6 - The films were not too long. They where approximately 5 minutes. Reason for this was because the filming at the time wasn’t too advance and obviously different to how films are filmed today.
7 - The cinematography was of course was very standard for the time and in terms of positioning, it wasn’t too experimental like many films of today and was just given a very simple treatment of the camera being still and just letting it film the scenery.
